In outer space a celestial body which orbits the earth. Moon phases include moon as a new moon, first phase of the moon, half moon, and last quarter of the moon, and a new moon or waning moon. Observations may refer to the moon’s north node or the moon’s south node, or to a ring around the moon. In architecture a half moon may refer to a crescent-shaped fortification, a moon gate, moon tower, or moon door. Finally spiritual references include moon elixir, moon god, moon god Nannan, and moon god Sin. (Liungman, 1995)
