Of or relating to the architecture, art, music, and literature of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. Later referred to architecture using forms derived from Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman sources. Also see classicism, classical style, neoclassical. Note that the spelling should be lower case, except when referring to a formal or proper noun such as Classical architecture, Classical style, and Classical Revival, etc. Photo of the Maison Carree in Nimes, France.
