Vertical support, or cantoned pier, consisting of a cluster of columns or shafts joined together, insulated, or engaged with a central pier. 2. Annulated, clustered, or compound pier with colonnettes or shafts attached to it and each other by means of bands of a shaft, as distinct from a bundle pier3. a grouping of related industries or institutions in a specified area; in the industrial context, these industries are inter-linked some will be suppliers to others, some buyers from others, some share labor or common resources. In the Main Street context, this term can be used to describe related industry sectors such as retail nodes or groups of linked business types within the district. The important thing about clusters are that the industries or businesses are economically linked-both collaborating and competing, and are to some degree, dependent upon each other and taking advantage of synergies (ex. a group of retailers coming together for a sidewalk sale) (Davis, 2025))
