common bricks

Isaac Kremer/ September 9, 2018/ / 0 comments

Ordinary bricks intended for structural, not ornamental, purposes; used as backing for terra cotta, stone, and face brick, and for interior or exterior walls where appearance is not of great concern. As a general rule, common bricks receive no special attention: they are not repressed, molded, rubbed, or carved. Common bricks often have surface imperfections such as kiss marks, grooves, and gouges. (Phillips, 1994) Photo from the Crofoot Ballroom, Pontiac, Michigan, 2007.
