Downtown – Lambertville, New Jersey

In 1778, Lambertville was the colonial river crossing village known as Coryell’s Ferry. During the Revolution the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River from Pennsylvania and camped here from June 2022, 1778, on their way to the battle at Monmouth.

St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church has an impressive edifice in the heart of the town. The present structure was dedicated in 1893.

Sandy’s Scoops has locations in Frenchtown and Lambertville. “We’re renowned for our commitment to using fresh, authentic ingredients that taste true to form, and we’re always striving to perfect our flavors, and textures. From the brownies in our ice cream, to the cake chunks and jams swirled throughout our concoctions, everything is expertly made in-house by our team of culinary wizards and served with detail by our scoop artists.”

Tips at Sandy’s Scoops make it a competition where people who give have a chance to vote with their tip.

The Halloween Window Contest gives an opportunity for businesses to decorate their shop windows and for people to vote on their favorites.

Sisao is a restaurant off of Main Street. This menu Board is a creatively reused wine crate with staging elements that reinforce the brand. A glass container with herbs and the menu for that night’s tasting are simple but evoke the tastes and experience of dining at Sisao.

A bike rack is provided by Bike Lambertville. A QR code is provided linking to local bicycling info.

Wayfinding signage at the corner helps to direct people to businesses in the downtown. The business name signs point in the direction of the street the businesses are located on.

This interpretive panel shows a map with key locations. Other Delaware River Towns are named in New Jersey including Stockton, Frenchtown, and Milford. On the Pennsylvania side are New Hope, Centre Bridge, Lumberville, Washington Crossing, Point Pleasant, and Upper Black Eddy.

Another business off of the beaten path is the Del-Vue Arcade. The modern design is at odds with the historic homes to either side. Overlooking that fact, it provides an entertainment offering impressive for a town the size of Lambertville.

This laser cut metal fencing brings a creative flourish out on the street and sidewalk. The options are endless for how to use a common material like this and bring creative design elements into the streetscape.
