Mary Terese Ording (1926-2018) – Lansing, Michigan

Mary Terese Ording was born February 25, 1926, in Williamston, Michigan. She grew up on the Ording family farm. Mary Ording had her first communion around 1933. She was a student at Williamston High School and active in the band (played clarinet) and also theater (participated in Junior and Senior Shows).

The 1930 US Census showed Mary’s future husband, Paul Kremer, living with his family at 1630 Robertson Ave in Lansing. The 1938 City Directory showed Paul Kremer living at 29 E Kilborn in Lansing and his occupation was listed as “Student.” Paul was a U.S. Army Infantry Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. Following the end of World War II, Paul married Mary Ording on October 8, 1946 in Williamston, Michigan. Their first child, Eileen Marie Kremer was born in 1947 and their second child Mary Alice Kremer was born in 1948. Their first son David Paul Kremer was born in 1951, followed by their second son Donald James Kremer in 1953.

In the 1950s lived at 401 Oakland Ave. Paul Kremer’s occupation in the 1953 and 1955 City Directory was “Foreman.” Ann Terese Kremer was born in ____. Joyce Helen Kremer was born in 1958. Paul retired in the 1980s from Oldmobile as a supervisor in Final Assembly after 38 years of service. By the 1960s the Kremer family was living at 821 Chesley Dr in Lansing. After retiring Paul took up oil painting and continued for the rest of his life. He had a room in his house on Chesley Dr converted for use as a studio. Produced over 100 paintings. Mary was artistically inclined as well, extensively sewing and crocheting items she’d frequently give as gifts to family members. Paul and Mary traveled extensively after retiring.

Eileen Marie Kremer died in 2002. Mary Alice Kremer  died in 2006. Paul Thomas Kremer, Jr., passed away on July 24, 2009. He was buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lansing. Several years after that the house on Chesley was sold. He was followed by Mary Terese Kremer (Ording) on September 23, 2018. Time elapsed between the death of Paul and Mary was 9 years, 1 month, and 30 days. At the time of her death Mary was 92 years, 2 months, and 7 days old (or 33672 days, or 48,487,680 minutes).
