Oak Ridge Park – Clark, New Jersey

We found the Oak Ridge Park for a New Year’s Day hike. While getting our steps in we ran across this distinctive gambrel roofed house. While clearly in need of some preservation, the house has a distinctive form. A two-story gabled extension projects from the main mass of the house. A bay window projects from the gabled extension.

Viewed from the front the wings are not symmetrical either by massing or window type. This indicates they were likely built at a later date.

There are missing and broken shutters, broken windows, and the whole house is in need of paint. Still, there is plenty of good historic fabric to work with.
