A new town is a planned community or city that is designed and built in a previously unoccupied and undeveloped area. The entire necessary infrastructure, such as transport networks, housing, industry and offices, social services, education institutions and recreational areas are designed as part of the overall plan, ensuring that all the residents’ needs are provided for. A new town provides an opportunity for the urban designer to organize the layout of a city in a manner that will overcome many of the problems that affilct older urban areas… (Ambrose, 2008)
