We took in the National Mall while waiting to enter the U.S. Botanic Garden.

Once inside they had train tracks and exhibits with monuments from different areas. The U.S. Supreme Court, Eiffel Tower, and what appeared to be the Palace of Fine Arts by Bernard Maybeck were all featured.

One exhibit had a plaque reading “Kentucky State Display” from the 1893 Chicago World Columbian Exposition.

We personally connected with two quotes in the lobby area – “Where flowers bloom, so does hope” from Lady Bird Johnson and “I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the starsfrom Walt Whitman.

The prime location on the National Mall and close proximity to the U.S. Capitol building were most striking.
