We had a short time to visit Atlanta. While doing so we sought to capture some of the placemaking and character of this distinctive and growing town.

Outdoor dining is one of the building blocks of a vibrant public space. Here the railing creates a sense of architectural enclosure while also being semi-transparent to passers by.

Another business in the neighborhood has used astroturf to create putting greens. Games and fun are always a great place activation technique.

The Northside Tavern is a live blues venue in an otherwise non-descript one-story building. Sometimes that is all it takes.

Sign painting on the exterior of this building create a sense of place. The elevated patio space accessible by stairs leaves more than a little bit to be desired.

Jenis is an artisinal ice cream shop with iconic flavors. The combination of the sign painting and blade sign give a good presence and sense of place from the sidewalk.

The Fox Theater is a cultural landmark is one of the built-up neighborhoods.

The Atlanta Beltline is an impressive piece of civic infrastructure, connecting many of the different neighborhoods together.
