Kremer Family Road Trip (2017)

The incline in Pittsburgh was one of our stops on the way to Muskegon, Michigan. We rode the incline to go to the top of the hill where several generations ago the Kremer family had a house.

This is near Republic Street where Peter Paul Kremer lived and that I wrote about previously.

As we passed through Toledo, we had a few minutes to visit the National Museum of the Great Lakes.

The next morning we visited Eastern Market together with my dad. I enjoyed walking through the renovated market stalls sharing this special place with my kids.

The Peter Paul Kremer house is where my great-great grandfather built and where he and the family lived in Lansing, Michigan.

Also in Lansing was the house where Paul Thomas Kremer, Sr. and his wife Grace Henrich lived. They were parents of my grandfather Paul Thomas Kremer, Sr.

One last stop in Lansing was to visit with my grandmother Mary. She had been living in an assisted living facility for several years.

Our final and furthest west destination was Muskegon. We found a park by the water and the kids enjoyed playing on the sand dunes. While visiting this park we learnt about the death of my brother-in-law Jim. So from here we drove back to Virginia for the funeral mass and burial. This provided the end point of a family oriented road trip.
