Naples yellow

Naples yellow, also called antimony yellow, is an inorganic pigment composed of the chemical compound lead antimonate. The compound was used in ceramic glaze in ancient Mesopotamia and as a colorant in ancient Egyptian glass. The pigment was used for painting in Europe from ca. 1700 to ca. 1850. 2. A orangish yellow pigment composed of basic lead antimonate; used in house paints in the early 19th century. 3. Other pigment compounds with a huge similar to earlier 19th century paint.
