Farm Show Arena and Expo Center. Impressive masonry building with WPA-styled details over the main street entrance.

Downtown the indoor farmers market has impressive outdoor furniture that can be flexibly used by vendors in the warmer weather months.

The concentration of historic buildings within a few blocks of each other is impressive. This includes the MidTown bookstore that fits a sizable storefront and has the largest collection of art books for sale in the Northeast.

Public art is prominent as well. Here are examples of just two murals. There are dozens more to discover throughout Harrisburg.

We were impressed by this Community Library that is a variation on the free library movement. In this instance the library in Harrisburg is involved in stocking and ensuring that there is circulation. This is an excellent way to bring library services beyond the four walls.

The Historic Harrisburg Association recognizes Preservation Award winners. This is an example of a plaque on a building that was recognized in 1998.

While leaving town the bridges and piers in the water, along with sunset, made for a beautiful shot.
