Increasingly malls are becoming locations for innovation beyond the traditional model of long corridors lined with stores. We were pleased to find blank" >target="_blank" >glossary/public-art/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="3b5d524e702b20f6df3a51c47d8d5cb1" target="_blank" >public art and a community hub on a recent visit to Bridgewater Commons in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

British multi-disciplinary artist Lois O’Hara hand painted this expansive 75-foot art mural. Her vibrant and diverse practice takes in large scale painting/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="6e44ab0ccd123368c67866e3f9540379" target="_blank" >mural painting, design and art direction, interior-design/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="8fc8003e1f989831fc7a204f632eff2b" target="_blank" >interior design and public art. Lois creates movement in design and believes that color can have positive effects on people and places. This site-specific mural embodies textures with contrasting bright, vibrant colors with striking black and white areas are empowering words making this one of O’Hara’s boldest pieces.

Another public art piece by @allikdesign is a way to fill the Lord & Taylor entrance.

The Community Hub is in a space that has been repurposed to showcase one of a kind events, exhibitions, programs, and workshops by an eclectic roster of local artists and organizations. The space is dedicated to celebrating culture and diversity, encouraging ideas and collaboration, and bringing fun and smiles to guests of all ages.
