St. Anthony’s cross
St. Anthony, a hermit in Egypt, is believed to have chased away a pack of demons with a cross of this type. This cross form is also known as the Tau cross, T-scross, Egyptian cross, and Crux commissa. Finally, it is also called the robbers’ cross, owing to the fact that the robbers crucified next to Christ are believed to have been hung from crosses of this shape, whereas Christ was hung on a Latin cross.
