The hand-cut surface texture of soft stone blocks with continuous parallel bats made by a tooth-chisel with 2-10 bats per inch; bats may be horizontal, vertical, or cross tooth-chiseled; used on soft stone, and imitated on molded concrete block and architectural terra-cotta.
