Carbonate of copper of a greencolor, silky or velvety luster, and pronounced concretionary structure. A little harder than commonmarble, but cuts to a sharp edge and acquires a good polish. To be had only in small pieces, and the table tops, vases and other works of art constructed from it are invariably patchwork veneers. The principalsource of the commercial article is the Ural Mountains. (Sturgis, 1900)
