Property that is inherited. Something other than property, such as tradition or culture, that is passed on from preceding generations. 3. Anything from the past that has meaning or value for the present and the future; includes physical cultural artifacts and the natural environment, as well as intangible cultural values; the term is more commonly used in Canada and by international organizations than in the U.S. See also World Heritage Committee.
