A horizontal, diagonal tie beam that supports the end of a hip rafter and bisects the inside corner fo a wall; the outer end is supported by the wall plates and the inner end by an angle brace or ceiling girder. 2. One of two braces under a breast-summer, meeting at an angle on the shoulder of the kingpiece. 3. A diagonal girder that projects past a corner post of atimber frame building to support the overhang.
