My Birthday – Albion, Michigan (2000)

My birthday… 20 years… and it has all gone by so fast. Woke up early to go to the MIAA cross country meet at the Wiffletree Golf Course, a few miles out of Albion. Went with Jillian and Josh, mainly to watch Rose-Anne. Enjoyed seeing other runners and spectators I knew too. Rose-Anne had a personal record time. It was nice to see how good this made her feel. Went to the soccer game afterwards (see pictures <cross.htm>). Women won the MIAA championship. Downloaded pictures from the morning, then went to the football game. Met Sarah and Roberta. Enjoyed watching the half time show with them. Albion won over Olivet.

Around 5pm someone stopped by my room and gave me a cake. My dad had arranged for it to be sent to me. Called him and said thanks. Then went out with Josh, Jillian and Rose-Anne for dinner in Battle Creek at Don Pablos. Conversation was eclectic, dinner was great.

At the end of the day, I enjoyed the cake in my dorm room and shared it with a few others on the dormitory floor of 4-North at Twin Towers. This was designated the “Academic Floor” and be the floor I lived on all three years at Albion College. Further, this specific room, looking westward towards the Coffee House and the Baldwin Center, would be my room the last two years.
