Architecture from the Midwestern United States between 1900 and 1916 named after designs by Frank Lloyd Wright, such as the Robie House in Chicago (1909), which were inspired by simple farm buildings of the American prairies. The style is characterized by low-pitched roofs with large overhanging eaves, a strong horizontal emphasis, and the dominance of the hearth as the focus of the living spaces. (Lubbell, 2018)
