A system of construction in which two or more uprights (posts) support a horizontal beam (lintel). This style of construction can be seen in ancient structures such as Stonehenge, in England, and the exterior colonnades of Greek temples. Post-and-lintel construction (also known as trabeated) is most often compared as an arched opening. (Lubell, 2018)
