A projecting bay window on an exterior wall on an upper floor, supported on brackets, corbels, a pier, or engaged column. May be rounded or multi-sided and contain one or more windows. The base beneath an oriel window may be corbeled or decorated. Originally a form of porch, often of wood. Contrast with loggia. Photo from Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida, 2016. 2.
