Farmers Market – Midland, Michigan

When we visited in 2018, the Farmers Market was arranged in the round. A roughly circular pavilion provided shelter for customers. Vendors were arranged on either side.

One of our finds at the market were heirloom tomatoes. After bringing some of the seeds back to New Jersey, these would become regulars in our garden from this point forward. This visit started a habit of growing our own tomatoes from seed each year.

A produce vendor was able to set up beneath the pavilion, not requiring cumbersome pop-up tents that are inclined to blow away in the wind.

This baker and cake designer had an ingenious setup with their refrigerated display cabinet on wheels.

Finally, a market is only as good as its management. Here the “Market Master” is near the front where the check in table was.

The Bike Midland bike share by Zagster was near the market. This allowed for people without cars to easily access the market. A basket on the front of the bike made it possible for people to bring items from the market home more easily.
