lumper
A slang term for a social scientist, such as an archaeologist, ethnologist, or linguist, who tends to emphasize the criteria that place artifacts, languages, and other cultural groupings in a single category, such as when classifying a multitype archaeological site or an inventory or grouping of artifacts, as opposed to a splitter.
