The number of cycles per unit time of a wave or oscillation. 2. an advertising term that refers to how many times an ad was shown to the average user in a defined target audience; frequency is calculated by dividing the total number of ad impressions by the total ad reach; frequency over 1.00 means that at least some users saw your ad more than once; if a frequency is high, advertisers should be wary about wasting budget by serving ads too many times to each user and thus lowering relevance.
