A group name for sparkling, crystalline varieties with white or light gray grounds, although some – such as Mezzotint and Creole – have heavy black clouding as a distinguishing characteristic. Georgia also produces Etowah Pink, a large-grained marble ranging from old rose to deep pink, with greenish black and greenish gray veinings. (Saylor, 1952)
