Associated with the early domestic work of frank Lloyd Wright from 1901, but linked to a broader group of architects including George Maher, Myron Hunt and others called the Prairie School. Their smalltownbuildings and houses symbolized the ethos of the midwestern states of the US and were influenced by the climate and open prairies featuring low, horizontal lines with lengthy projecting roofs and openplans.
