The term refers to modern lightweight enclosures which are held up by air. There are two main types – those that are held up by inflated ribs and those where the internal air pressure is kept slightly above atmospheric air-pressure in order to support the structure itself. The latter requires an air-lock at entrances. (Foster, 2000)
