Egyptian Revival architecture
An architectural style appropriating visual images from Ancient Egypt. Egyptian revival first appeared after Napoleon’s expedition to Egypt in 1809 and, because of the connection between the Pharaoh and death and eternity, became a popular style for cemetery structures.
