Founder of the Knights of Columbus and a central figure in the growth of Catholicism in America. He rallied the men of his parish to live lives of charity, unity, and fraternity. He was named a Venerable Servant of God by Pope Benedict XVI in 2008. On May 26, 2020, Pope Francis approved a decree for a miracle attributed to his intercession, opening the way for Father McGivney to be beatified.
