Downtown – Clayton, Georgia

Clayton is defined by mostly one and two story buildings with some larger three-story buildings interspersed throughout. Streets and sidewalks received an update prior to our visit in 2014.

The topography makes it difficult to have continuous rows of buildings spanning multiple blocks. Walkways like this connect different areas of the downtown.

A stage and plaza area is enclosed by masonry piers with metal bars. Piers near the entrance have Coca Cola glass bottles stacked on one another.

Mountain Crafts Co-op brings some much needed vitality to the downtown, while also giving artists, makers, and crafters and opportunity to have a commercial presence that they could not afford independently.

The Adirondack Rocker made out of pressure treated pine sold for $200. One version had rockers on it.
