A resilient flooring tile composed of vinyl resins reinforced with asbestos fibers, plus clay-based inert fillers and pigment; manufactured mid-late 20th century; typically 9×9 or 12×12 inches square and 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick. See also vinyl tile. (Bucher, 1996)
