Grouping furnishings with picturesque and aesthetic appeal. Brass figures and glass vases on a hall mantel, for instance, would catch light from the stair window during the day and the firelight at night. They also told a pleasant story about collecting. Tall vases at the corners of stair landings, hold arrangements of dried flowers and grasses. Hanging wall cabinets were readymade for the display of small objects. They were located on practically any flat surface that could hold them: tables, niches, even door lintels (Zukowski, 2006). (Zukowski, 2006)
