This structure is a squareor nearly squareboxwith peaked-hip roof (sometimes truncated at the very top). Being two rooms wide and two rooms deep, it is essentially a 2- or 2 1/2—story version of the pyramidalcottage. However, most cube houses provide substantially greater floor space than pyramid cottages. This formtype was popular throughout the first three decades of the 20th century.
