Solomonic column

A helical column with a twisting shaft. Said to derive from the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem, Solomonic columns can be topped by any capital. As they are especially ornate, they ar rarely used in architecture but more often found in furniture. (Hopkins, 2014)
