Gothic cornice

An 18th century Gothick cornice or frieze consisting of a series of interlacing pointed arches not carried on anything, but with pendants hanging from where the arches would normally spring. A curious 20th c. use of the motif was under the cornice of Ideal House, Great Marlborough Street, London, by Raymond Hood. (Curl & Wilson, 2016)
