The antithesis of Functionalism, it was proposed (1960s) as a purposeless architecture by Walter Pichler and Hans Hollein, the opposite of objectivity (Schlichkeit). Its forms were to be created by imagination without consideration of need. It was also used todescribe Goff’s investigations of structure and space. (Curl & Wilson, 2016)
