East Cass Street Bridge, 1885

Architecture

Concrete and steel bridge with steel guard rails. This three arch bridge echoes in design an 1896 stone bridge with decorative iron railings that notably was the only bridge to survive the 1908 flood but had become structurally unsound in recent years. The new bridgewas faced in the spring of 1997 with stones from the original bridge.
