ch’uang
In Chinese architecture, a window. May be of the casement type with side hinges, it may have hinges along the top or bottom, it may be a sliding window, or it may be a fixed opening used to frame a landscape or filled with a decorative grille. Double glazing is used in the north; similar to mado in Japanese architecture. (Harris, 1977)
