Economic development underwent a paradigm shift in 2020. This presentation then focused on people helping to bring the new economic development about.
Utilizing the entrepreneurial ecosystem model from Main Street America, Isaac provided an in depth discussion of revitalization in downtown Metuchen, New Jersey. This included focusing on financial capital, culture, regulation, social capital, human capital, and education and training.
The presentation concluded that economic development organizations need to partner with Main Street programs if they are going to be successful attracting and retaining traded-sector firms. Holistic and integrated places are ones where everyone thrives.
