1854 Wyandotte Village | Ford City | Glenwood & Mt. Carmel | South Wyandotte
1. Millennium Clocktower at Biddle and Maple
Standing on this spot in the 1730s you would have witnessed the first visitors and establishment of the Mauquaqua village. Major John Biddle passed through this area during the War of 1812 and returned in 1818 to establish his gentlemans farm. Finally in 1854, Eber Ward and other businessmen from Detroit established the Eureka Iron Works.
The clock tower and pergola are a civic project to coincide with Wyandotte’s celebration of the year 2000.
