Preservationist and music venue operator Blair McGowan was featured on the Detroit Today program on 101.9FM today. McGowan cited the rising wave of interest in historic preservation – especially focusing on tax credits which have the potential of paying for up to 25% of redevelopment costs for historic resources. He cited succecss in Midtown and downtown Pontiac where his latest project – the Crofoot building – is located. The Crofoot Ballroom has 1,000 seats and state of the art sound and light equipment. While the Pike Room is a smaller 250 seat venue. Grand opening of the Crofoot will be Friday, September 7, at 7pm. More information can be found at http://www.thecrofoot.com.
