A hornblende pyroxene granite of Quincy, Massachusetts; from medium gray or bluish gray to a very dark bluish gray, all with blue or blue-black spots; its texture is from medium to coarse with even grain, taking a high polish because of the absence of mica. (Saylor, 1952)
