Oswald Mathias Ungers
German architect: whose own house was comprised of simple, blocky, geometric forms. He was a proponent of Modernism, and the context in which buildings are combined with historical references. Work includes the Architecture Museum, Frankfurt (1979), and the German Embassy, Washington, D.C. (1995). (Burden, 2002)
