A blank" >house with a saltbox floor plan (with lobby target="_blank" >glossary/entrances/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="bc3cb4023b26ff1dedff90f24987bf60" target="_blank" >entrance facing a central chimney and smaller rooms in back), this structure has a symmetrical pitched-roof/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="b4c1e196951abb0545db9948950c7b38" target="_blank" >gable roof when viewed in side profile. Thus it has a full second story across the rear rather than a lean—to extension.
