Congress Internationale d’Architecture Moderne, a body formed after a conference at La Sarraz, Switzerland, in 1928. It sought to define Modernist orthodoxy largely on the lines set out by Le Corbusier and its secretary, Sigfried Giedion, until it was challenged by Team X in the 1950s. (Melvin, 2006)
