A group name for a wide variegated French marbles quarried in the Campan district, Hautes-Pyrenees. Some of the names are Campan Griotte, Melange, Rouge, Vert Truite, Vert, and Vert. They range from a rich red ground with interlacings of very fine green veins, including large streaks and veins of white, to a light green ground broken by a lacework of fine dark-green veins. (Saylor, 1952)
