A refrigerator that is cooled by blocks of ice and is used for keeping food fresh; may be movable or built-in; exterior is typically oak or ash lined with painted or galvanized sheet metal and insulated with sawdust, charcoal, or cork; also known as ice chest. (Bucher, 1996)
