The Homestead – Hot Springs, Virginia

The lobby of The Homestead is elegantly decorated with highback chairs and tables. These are well suited for the daily tea service.

Hot springs throughout the site refer to the earlier history. Some like this one are not for bathing in.

The rolling mountains provide a scenic backdrop to activities that happen at the resort.

The octagonal dome in the main dining room is an impressive feature allowing light to enter the space below.

Visit in 2012

As we approached The Homestead, the scenery of the area stood out, such as from this scenic overlook.

Upon arriving we were pleased to see the lobby again where we enjoyed afternoon tea.

The coffered ceiling off of the main dining room had beautiful architectural detailing.

We took the waters here. The building housing the hot spring was regrettably in advanced condition of deterioration.

Outside different buildings housing the springs were accessible off of the parking lot.

During our return visit in March 2012 it snowed the last day just before we left.
